IBSA 2019 Youth World Championships

This is the first expression of interest for your Youth Boys and Youth Girls teams to compete at the 2019 IBSA Goalball Youth World Championships in Sydney, Australia at Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre. 

 

We will accept the first 8 entries in each Youth Girls and Youth Boys categories. Please fill in the 1^st expression of interest via the REGISTER >  link above.

 

Accommodation is the Panthers Mercure Hotel. Breakfast and Dinners will be served at Panthers Buffet and all ground transport will be provided both from the airport upon arrival to the hotel and from the hotel back to the airport. Welcome bags upon arrival give you discounts on local attractions, food and transport if you wish to sight see while in Sydney. 

 

Entry fee is set at $1,500 AUD per person. Approximately 930 EU or 1060 USD. (This is subject to change based off international exchange rates at the time of payment) 

Entry fee per person includes twin share accommodation, all meals and all transport throughout the duration of the event. We have tried to keep entry fees low to encourage high participation by countries.

A $2000 (AUD) non-refundable deposit is to be paid prior to May 3rd with the remainder of the team's $1500 per person fee due no later than July 5th, 2019 Your $2000 deposit will be counted toward your final payment amount. 

 

Itinerary:

Friday, August 2^nd Arrive at Sydney Int Airport (SYD) go to Hotel approximately 90 min drive.

Saturday & Sunday, August 3^rd and 4^th: Classifications and Team Training Sessions

Monday, August 5^th 10am: Opening Ceremony followed by First Pool Games

Tuesday & Wednesday, August 6^th & 7^th: Pool Games

Thursday, August 8^th: Pool Games (morning session) followed by Semi Final Games

Friday, August 9^th: Bronze and Gold medal games followed by Closing Ceremony 

Saturday, August 10^th: Team depart from Mercure Penrith Hotel to Sydney International Airport (SYD) for departing flights home

Extra nightly hotel and meal costs will apply at your own teams expense if you wish to arrive early or leave later than the above dates.

Playing Venue - Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre: 2 show courts plus 2 warm up courts, all in separated arenas within one venue

We will be using full size KSG Goalball’s for this tournament and all games will be played on sprung wooden floors. We will be using Goalfix Eclipse eyeshades that will be distributed to all players who will be patched for the entirety of all games at this Tournament.
