How to lay pre-joined team area strings

How to use pre-attached team area strings.

Goalball is played on a 9m wide 18m long court, with tactile markings.  Our pre-attached team area strings aim to make mininial court markings to quick and easy for the game of goalball to be played.  The set of Team Area strings come on 2 x 8 inch reals, one end per real.

The goalball court is made of 6 x 3m sections, team area, landing area, neutral area, neutral area, landing area and team area.  A fully layed court has all the line above marked with 3mm string held in place by 50mm tape.

The pre-attached team area strings, have all the string markings for the team area only,.

How to Lay (If your floor has volleyball court markings, these are 9 x 18, start in one corner taping to the middle of the court line)

Time taken approx 8 minutes per end

  1. Remove cover from the real
  2. Tape the 50mm red marker to the court in position 1 on the diagram above
  3. Unroll the string down the court until the 2nd 50mm marker is unrolled, tape the marker to the court with the mark remaining on the side line.
  4. Make a 90 degree turn and continue to unroll the string across the court until the 3rd 50mm red marked is unrolled.
  5. Tape the 3rd marker to the sideline, so the marker runs inline with the sideline
  6. Continue to unroll the string until you the 4th red 50mm marker is unrolled, tape this to the sideline
  7. Make a 90 degree turn and continue to the run the string until you reach the 5mm black marker at the end of the string
  8. Tape the black marker perpendicular to the red marker in position 1.
  9. Adjust the red markers so the area is as square as possible
  10. straighten out each of the marker strings
  11. Tape each black string joiner on the main string to the court
  12. Tape the far end of each attached string to the court so that it lays at a 90 degree angle to the main string it is attached too
  13. Cover all strings with tape

 

Packing away

  1. Remove all tape from the strings, taking care at each join point.
  2. Locate the 5mm black marker at the end of the main string line
  3. Hold the black marker to the real and start to roll the string onto the real
  4. Once full rolled place thre real cover back onto the real.
